2019 Blooming Ways

Blooming ways an experimental, interactive project between drawing, Cello music and butoh dance in Lucie Betz's studio in Nuage Fou, Freiburg took place in October 2019. On Cello was Genevieve Megier, Butoh dance by Lucie Betz and drawings by Sarita Chouhan.

The lines interconnect and the intersection takes place between drawing, music and butoh dance. The drawing of lines on a scroll stretched on floor is like a river flowing telling its tale of passage of time, survival, meeting of energies, breathing together, lines blurring like fading memories, music slows down... and there is silent spaces in between... and again it goes in high pitch, lines overlap, the body is energised and in the infinity the stars sparkle...

The solid black lines, tree trunks drawn with dark black charcoal on criss-crossing lines, reminiscence of thousands of trees that are being cut down every day while somewhere else the flowers bloom and spread its joy. On a closer look one could read the text underneath the lines written in English, Hindi and German language 'We are all same' suggestive of Inter-connectedness of all beings.
